02 / Safety comes first

Because your holiday should feel carefree

You came to Krabi to enjoy the sea, not to worry about what happens if something goes wrong.

Accident insurance up to 1,000,000 THB

Barracudas Tour has run island trips out of Ao Nang, Krabi since 1992, and every passenger on every trip is covered by accident insurance up to 1,000,000 THB. The cover is included with your trip. There is no separate insurance purchase and no additional charge for basic passenger accident cover.

If medical treatment is needed, the cover can provide access to eligible treatment at participating medical facilities, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy.

Private medical care in Ao Nang

One of the private hospitals in the Ao Nang area is Wattanapat Hospital Ao Nang, part of the Wattanapat Hospital group, which has provided medical services in southern Thailand for decades. It offers emergency and specialist services, with facilities including imaging, surgery and emergency care.

Insurance claims and hospital payment arrangements are subject to the policy's terms, conditions and claim procedures.

Yearly CPR training for our crew

Good safety is not something you think about only when there is an emergency. Our crew takes CPR training every year, so they can respond confidently if something happens on the water.

Training keeps the procedures fresh and gives the team a chance to practise rather than rely on memory. When something unexpected happens at sea, there is no time to look it up.

Life jackets that meet the standard

A life jacket is one of the simplest pieces of safety equipment on a boat, and one of the most important. The life jackets we provide are selected to meet the applicable requirements and criteria of Thailand's Marine Department.

We do not treat a life jacket as something that simply has to be present on the boat. It has to be the right equipment, properly maintained, and available to the people who need it. Our crew tells passengers when jackets should be worn, particularly on transfers between islands and when the sea conditions call for it.

Mask and snorkel are included as well, so there is nothing to rent at the first stop.

Insurance is the last line, not the first

Insurance is there for when something happens. Our job is to do everything reasonable to make sure it does not.

  • Experienced local captains
  • A weather and sea-condition assessment before every trip
  • Safety briefings for passengers
  • Life jackets worn on transfers between islands
  • Boat maintenance and operational checks
